Neighbour & construction noise
Noise evidence a council will actually read.
Earwitness keeps a dated diary of every disturbance, grades how trustworthy each measurement is, seals every entry so it can be shown to be unaltered, and builds the pack your council asks for — in one action, not a weekend of typing.
A$49 per case, paid once. No subscription. Your diary, your exports and the proof your record is unaltered are always free.
No authority anywhere accepts a phone reading as proof of a noise level. The dated diary and the pack are what carry weight — measurement adds credibility, it is not the evidence.
Why this is hard without help
Councils ask for a diary. Almost nobody manages to keep one.
Ask about neighbour or building-site noise and you are sent a diary sheet: every occurrence, in order, with how long it lasted and what it did to you. Weeks of it.
It happens when you are asleep
The disturbance that matters most is at 2am, which is exactly when nobody writes anything down. Earwitness logs it while it is happening.
Weeks of it, by hand
A paper sheet is a second job. Earwitness assembles the diary as you go, so the pack comes out of the nights you lived through.
"How do we know you didn't edit this?"
A spreadsheet can be changed afterwards and everyone knows it. Every entry here is sealed into a chain and timestamped, so an alteration shows.

Tell us the address once
We look it up in the verified region packs. If your address is covered you get your council's actual rules, its quiet hours and its own checklist. If it is not covered we say so plainly — we never show you another council's rules and hope you don't notice.

Press start when the noise starts
The session runs with the screen off and survives the night. Each event is logged with its date, time, length and location, and a single tap marks the moment without waking you up properly.

Every reading is graded, in words
A phone microphone is not an instrument, so each reading carries a grade — and we never average across grades to make a nicer number. A second device raises an event to cross-checked; a hired meter sits at its own grade.

Write what it did to you
The part only you can supply, and the part an officer reads first. Woke at 02:10, could not get back to sleep, took a sick day. Quiet nights get logged too, because a pattern persuades where a list of grievances does not.

Build the pack and send it
One action produces a PDF and Word pack: cover, pattern of disturbance, measurements with their grades, the full diary, your signed declaration, and a verification code. Rebuild it as often as the case needs.

They check it is unaltered
The recipient enters the verification code. Unaltered, altered, or a missing file — three deliberately different answers. No account, nothing to install, and nothing for your council to buy.
Countries, councils and price
Six countries. A$49 a case, paid once.
One app with a region pack per country, and verified rules per council inside it: Australia, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, New Zealand and the United States. Where your address is covered you get that council's quiet hours, complaint fields and checklist. Where it is not, the app says so and still keeps the diary and builds the pack.
A phone is not a sound level meter, and we cannot promise an outcome. If your case needs a defensible level you need a hired meter — and the app will carry their figures at their own grade.
